JellyInAtlanta

Date Comments:

  • D. Jones 6/12/08: Kind of new to this as well, and can't seem to discover if there is an "organizer" or if someone's in charge... Looks like you just post. We'll be working ad hoc at SIP @ Lindbergh Station Friday 6/13 and Monday 6/16 from 9AM on. Will add a post on the main page here (I guess and at http://www.atlantaworkspace.com).
  • Thema: Allen, I was wondering the same thing. I signed up last month, but I have never been to a meeting. I live by Piedmont Park. It seems like Jelly Atlanta isn't as active as I thought it would be.
  • Today is May 8, and I wonder what happened to Jelly in ATL...is anybody interested in meeting maybe Friday?Let me know:  allenmop2000-jungle at yahoo.com

  • Brian mentioned that discussion was held to plan Jelly every other week. Is there any particular day of the week that is best? So far, they seem to be Friday. If we did every other week, then the next meetings would be Jan 18, Feb 1, Feb 15, Feb 29 (Leap Day), March 7, 14, 21, 28, etc. "First Friday of the month" means that sometimes it will get clobbered by New Years. A periodic schedule gives it a fair chance, at least. Thoughts? - Randall
  • J. Smith: I'm definitely in favor of having Jellys more often than once a month. Jan 18 is a no-go for me though (MLK Weekend, which creates all sorts of scheduling craziness for me).
  • Brian, 1/18: Pretty light turnout today @ Urban Grind. Just two of us as far as I could tell (me + Howard), though I didn't show up until ~3pm. Did the Roswell Jelly take the wind out of JellyInAtlanta's sails? Maybe everyone took off early for the 3-day weekend? Hopefully turnout is better on Feb 1st...
  • ChrisM: New to this Jelly thing, so forgive me if I'm slow on the uptake. Feb. 1 for a meet-up looking good, as long as I don't have 50 million conference calls (the bane of working remotely).
  • RobertB: Just missed the Feb 1st date!  I'm very new to the coworking thing, hopefully the next one doesn't have to be two weeks away ;).  Maybe a set schedule would help people?
  • Brian, 2/26:  Might be a bit late, but I'm going to create an event for 2/29....and I guess I'll throw one up for 3/14.

Location Comments:

Brian: Urban Grind works well, though gets a bit crowded if there is a large turnout.

ChrisM: When do you typically finalize the location, or is Urban Grind the default location?

Brian:  Well...the location is finalized when someone edits the wiki page claiming it is, and no one changes it.  There's no JellyInATL president or board or anything -- it's pretty much whoever steps up and does something.  Urban Grind has sort of become the default location since we've had it there a few times, it's a nice place and it isn't otherwise too much of a mob scene on Friday afternoons (though it's a bit small if we get a large turnout).  To avoid confusion, I'll seize this power and finalize Urban Grind as the location for 2/1, but we should discuss where we want future Jellies and how/who can make the call.

David: Brian, I am going to be out of town for the 2/29 meeting, but am eager to meet some of you.  My partner and I are creating a space for co worki ng permanently/renting space for events, and would love to get some feedback from your group

Brian:  David, should we have one of the next Jelly events at your place?  Where is it located?

Loren : Im offering Breukelen Mojo Coffeehouse as the next location! Free WiFI ... Jelly! members receive a discount after the organizer arranges the time please  Print out this flyer !!

  • Brian, 2/29: I'd like to get an RSS feed for JellyInATL, but the RSS feed currently gives updates any time anyone updates *any* Jelly wiki -- be it for Atlanta, NYC, Sydney, etc.  Does anyone know how to create an RSS feed that will give you updates when only JellyInATL pages are updated? Raines, 3/25: It looks like I may be in town 4/11 and would love to join in the fun, compare notes from other cities I've done coworking in.

  • Yassir - 7/7: I would like to be added to this wiki for the next JellyInAtlanta. The password (j311y) does not seem to work. My email address is yjorio@comcast.net. I have created a wiki account, but when I tried to join Atlanta Jelly, it's asking for an invite key. If someone is so kind to email it to me, that would be great. We also need to schedule another Jelly gathering in the next upcoming weeks. I will be glad to assist in the planning. Thanks
