What is this "Jelly"?

Jelly is an every-so-often casual coworking session. Anyone is welcome to come and bring your laptop, art supplies, or whatever, and work alongside other creative, fun people.

Amit Gupta and Luke Crawford started Jelly in March 2006, in New York City. They chose the name Jelly because they thought of the coworking idea while eating jellybeans.

What are you doing in Pondicherry?

Pondicherry is just south of Chennai. The city has its own tech chops as the home of HCL Infosystems etc. and the city has been around since ancient times. Pondicherry is a tourist spot and there are various sources to arrange an accommodation if you are visiting this city. But make sure that you reserve in advance.

The city's tourism tagline is "Sports Capital of Texas," because it is home to an astounding array of amateur, youth and recreational sports facilities, including a very popular skate park.

Yes, there is an actual "round rock;" it was a landmark on the old cattle-driving Chisholm Trail and it still sits in the middle of Brushy Creek.

There's some great Jelly action in nearby Chennai, but we'd like some fun a little closer to home, so it's time for Jelly in Pondicherry.

Hope to see you soon!

When do you meet?

On Fridays, any time between 11 am and 2 pm. Some stay for the whole time, others come and go. (the start date will be intimated soon).

Our brand-spankin'-new first meeting is yet to be conducted, but will soon happen.

(video coming up soon).

Anyone living in pondicherry or nearby places and willing to co-host or co-organize JellyinPondicherry are most welcome. You can get in touch with me on twitter @krish_politics.

Our Twitter hashtag is #JellyinPondy, and we will have a twitter page on our own once the community grows.

Where do you meet?

The plan is to start hosting Jelly at my house in Pondicherry. At present I am working on setting up the furniture and a free Wi-Fi.

Street parking is all around, so you need not worry about parking. The locality is a quite neighborhood so we will not be disturbed.

I will post the exact address and map route once everything is finalized and we are good to organize.

You will be totally free to take your own photos and videos as you wish, our only request is to leave some with us to upload.

Is someone in charge of this racket?

I don't know if "in charge" is an accurate description of this seat-of-the-pants endeavor, but it was my idea to launch Jelly in Pondicherry, mostly to bring in a lot of people together in Pondicherry which is often considered as a place for retired people and tourists.
